The term ‘Giclée’ is derived from the French word, ‘gicler’, which literally translates as ‘to squirt’ or ‘spray’ (inspired by the way that the printer nozzle applies the ink pigments to the paper). The term ‘Giclée’ was coined to describe inkjet printing in the early nineties and has remained a description for inkjet printing ever since. The term ‘Giclée Prints’ or ‘pigment prints’ (as they are also known) denote a print made from a digital file directly to paper using an inkjet printer as an output device. Whilst the term is broad, it has come to be associated with prints produced to fine art papers. Our Giclée printing is archival grade, exceptional quality and offers an intense colour and vibrancy. Giclée Fine Art Printing offers vivid colours unparalleled by traditional photographic printing process. The Epson Ultrachrome inks used for our our Giclée Fine Art prints are highly pigmented, light-fast to an exceptional standard and specially designed to be used with our high-grade archival papers.
