Pabbay is the most Westerly Island before St.Kilder and when we stayed there (by kind permission of William and Alice Fox Pitt) one is aware of this neat, purity of nature that is in such contrast to the Oxfordshire landscape; so constructed and controlled.
The sense of place seems amplified as you become aware of the constant and extreme changes in clouds and weather rolling in. The sea changes colour as the light fluxes evolve. This is a truly wild and isolated kind of beauty that, as an Artist or for me at least, re energises and reminds one as why the pursuit must continue!
